- STRENGTHENING UNITY IN THE CHURCH: GUARDING AGAINST DIVISION
Unity in the church is not just a preference; it’s a command from God. Jesus Himself prayed for our unity in John 17:21, saying, “that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” Yet, the enemy thrives on division, seeking to infiltrate through weak or unsuspecting believers, bringing discord and disunity. The Enemy’s Strategy. Thriving on division Satan understands that a united church is a powerful force against his kingdom. His goal is to break the body of Christ apart because a divided church is weakened and ineffective. He knows that when believers turn against each other, they lose focus on their true mission, spreading the Gospel and glorifying God. Through lies, deception, and manipulation, he plants seeds of discord, encouraging pride, misunderstandings, and personal agendas over godly unity. The devil often uses subtle tactics to divide the body of Christ. Here are a few warning signs: · Miscommunication and Assumptions: Misunderstandings that lead to unnecessary conflicts. Example: A member assumes they were intentionally excluded from an event, leading to resentment instead of seeking clarification. · Pride and Ego: Allowing personal desires to take precedence over collective harmony. Example: A leader refuses to accept correction, creating tension within the ministry team. · Isolation and Exclusion: Keeping certain members at a distance instead of fostering inclusivity. Example: Newcomers feel ignored and struggle to integrate into church activities. · Neglect of Spiritual Discernment: Reacting emotionally instead of seeking God’s guidance. Example: Making decisions based on personal feelings rather than biblical principles, leading to discord. · Spiritual Apathy: Lack of commitment to prayer, fellowship, and growth, weakening the church’s unity. Example: Members disengage from serving, leaving the burden on a few, causing frustration and burnout. Would You Allow Division in Your Home? Imagine if someone came into your house and intentionally turned your family members against one another. Would you sit back and allow it? Absolutely not! The church is God’s house, and we must defend its unity with the same passion we would protect our own homes and relationships. Fighting in the Spirit The battle against division isn’t won by human arguments but through spiritual warfare. Here’s how we can fight back: · Pray for Unity: Ask God to bind us together in love and peace (Ephesians 4:3). · Speak Life: Use your words to uplift, encourage, and heal (Proverbs 18:21). · Walk in Forgiveness: Refuse to hold grudges and always seek reconciliation (Colossians 3:13). · Submit to God’s Word: Ensure that personal opinions never outweigh biblical truth (2 Timothy 3:16-17). · Expose the Enemy: Call out divisive behavior in love and redirect others toward unity (Titus 3:10). Engage With Us! What are some ways you've seen division try to creep into the church? How can we stand firm together to ensure the enemy finds no foothold? Share your thoughts below—let’s strengthen the body of Christ together!
- The Greater Glory After the Shaking
The Greater Glory After the Shaking Life often brings seasons of shaking, times when everything we thought was stable begins to tremble. Relationships, careers, finances, and even our spiritual walk can go through storms. But in Haggai 2:6-9, God assures us that shaking is not meant to destroy us; it is meant to prepare us for greater glory. You may ask yourself: How is that possible? When God shakes things, He removes what is temporary and weak so that only what is eternal and strong stays. If you feel like your world has been shaken, take heart, God is making room for something greater! 1. The Shaking is Preparation for Glory “I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations” (Haggai 2:6-7). Just as God shook the nations in Haggai’s time, He allows shaking in our lives to reposition us for His purposes. Often, we hold onto things that limit us, comfort zones, old mindsets, and even relationships that prevent us from fully walking in God’s will. The shaking is a divine reset. Yes, read that again—a divine reset, breaking attachments to what cannot carry us into the greater glory He has prepared. Consider Joseph—betrayed, enslaved, and imprisoned. But after the shaking, Joseph was promoted to a position of power in Egypt. His latter days were far greater than his former ones! 2. The Glory of the Latter House in Our Lives “The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former” (Haggai 2:9). What does this mean for us? It means that no matter how glorious your past may have been, God has something even greater ahead. If you’ve experienced loss, disappointment, or brokenness, don’t dwell on what was, fix your eyes on what will be. God never restores to the same level, He always increases. Job, after losing everything, received double what he had before. The disciples, after losing Jesus to the cross, experienced the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, an even greater manifestation of God’s presence than when Jesus walked beside them. Whatever you’ve lost, whatever has been shaken, believe that God is bringing you into a new season of greater glory. 3. The Lord is Our Source “The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,” says the Lord of hosts" (Haggai 2:8). Sometimes, we fear the shaking because we don’t know how we will recover. But God reminds us that He is the owner of all things. He controls every resource, every opportunity, and every breakthrough. When God says He will fill your life with greater glory, He has the means to do it! Your provision is not in the hands of an employer, a government agency, or an economy—it is in the hands of the Lord of hosts, the One who owns all the silver and the gold. 4. Peace After the Shaking “And in this place I will give peace,” says the Lord of hosts" (Haggai 2:9). True peace is not the absence of storms but the presence of God in the midst of them—Pastor Armando Olmedo. After the shaking comes peace, the kind that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). You may be in a storm right now, but peace is coming. God’s peace is not just external; it is an internal assurance that He is in control. The shaking will end, and when it does, you will stand in a place of greater glory with greater faith, greater testimony, and greater peace. Stand in Expectation of Greater Glory! The shaking is not your downfall, it is your divine setup! What may feel like loss is preparation for a greater breakthrough. The glory of your latter days will surpass your former days. God’s peace, provision, and power are already being released over your life! Reflect & Declare: 🔹 What areas of your life have been shaken? Trust that God is clearing the way for something greater. 🔹 Where have you experienced loss? Declare with confidence: The latter glory will be greater than the former! 🔹 Are you worried about provision? Remember, the silver and gold belong to God—He is your ultimate source! No matter what you have faced, greater glory is ahead! Hold fast to His promise, stand firm in faith, and step boldly into your new season of peace, power, and purpose. Your best days are not behind you—they are right in front of you!
¡Absolutamente no!
- I will ask the Father
In all of life's challenges, it's good to have someone around who can give us the support we need. Sometimes, they don't have to say anything but having them there is enough. A true gift to experience is a bond like this with someone you can be yourself without judgment. I encourage you to take time with the one friend who will never leave your side, no matter what. We've talked about the Holy Spirit being our best personal trainer, but today, I'd like us to talk about the Holy Spirit, our Helper, and why Jesus sent Him to us after His ascension. In the Merriam-Webster dictionary, Comforter is defined as “One that gives comfort.” For example, a Paramedic may take a Psychological Trauma course to help their patients deal with intense fear, stress, and pain during certain medical situations. Paramedics are trained to show compassion and comfort to the person in need, just like the Holy Spirit comforts us in the hardest of trials and gives us peace that surpasses all understanding. Scripture tells us we have an Advocate, which means one who pleads the cause of another. 1 John 2:1 says, “ My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” So, when Satan comes to accuse us of how awful we are, the Holy Spirit will whisper words of love and encouragement, reminding us of God's forgiveness. The Holy Spirit acts as our Intercessor and prays, petitions, and entreats in our favor. Romans 8:26 tells us; “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 5:5 also reminds us, “Hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” There is something so wonderful about someone who prays, petitions, and entreats in our favor. You will no longer see the trials Goliath-sized in comparison to your great God because now you have someone praying and asking the Father to give you victory. Next, the Holy Spirit is our Counselor, the one who gives advice in law and manages cases for clients in court. (“Counselor,” [Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary]). How many times have we gone through something, and the Holy Spirit speaks to us through His word? Providing guidance, support, and assistance through our trials, because Satan will always try to degrade us and make us feel like God hasn’t done anything in our lives. The Holy Spirit is God, He is our Wonderful Counselor who has never lost a case. The Holy Spirit gives us strength (support) just like a pre-workout, energy drink, or coffee. When we are going through trials, we may feel like the battle is never-ending, so we get tired and weary, but if it were not for the strength of the Holy Spirit we would throw in the towel. He tells us in Ephesians 6:10a; "Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord and the power of His might.” We are strong when we trust in His power by putting on the full armor of God. We cannot be overpowered by Satan’s lies and deceits when we depend on the Holy Spirit to give us supernatural strength (the power of His might). Finally, He is our Standby, our reliable source, especially in emergencies. He is the first person we should go to in times of need; who will take us by our hand and lead us to the finish line. Our walk with the Lord is hard at times, but we are not alone! If we believe in the Father, we must love His Son Jesus and depend on His Holy Spirit to guide, teach, and show us the way to go. So, when we feel alone and think we don’t have anyone to turn to, we must always remember that we have the Holy Spirit who provides everything we need to overcome life’s challenges. Sources Merriam-Websters Dictionary online Biblegateway online Bible versions used- NKJV, KJV, AMP John 14:16 AMP - "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever."
- Fighting Negative Thoughts: Easy Steps for a Peaceful Mind
Many of us struggle with negative thoughts that invade our minds daily. We lie awake in bed, our thoughts racing in circles, filled with worry, fear, and chaos—replacing the peaceful and joyful thoughts we once felt. Even if we’ve surrendered these burdens to God, it often seems that the enemy finds a way back into our minds, reigniting the battle. How many of you have felt like it’s a losing fight at times? Today, I want to share two types of gardens: one where the devil sows seeds of discouragement and the other where the Spirit of God plants seeds of peace and joy. We can all agree that God’s mercies are new every morning. Yet, we also have an enemy who seeks to attack us at every turn, planting seeds of discouragement in our minds. We might hear whispers telling us how “unworthy” we are or that “we are not loved.” These thoughts are like weeds in our gardens, choking the beauty in our hearts—lies that God did not plant. Recently, I spoke with a family member about the trees in our garden. They shared how spiders outside were spinning webs on the branches, causing the trees to suffer. What should we do when these thoughts invade our minds? Do we entertain them? Do we agree with the lie, saying, “Yes, I am not loved”? When we do this, we open the door of our hearts to these negative influences, risking the beautiful fruit God has planted. We must take action to remove these pests, just as we would clear cobwebs from trees to ensure they bear good fruit. But what if I told you we can cultivate a different kind of garden? Imagine a garden overflowing with beautiful fruit, lovingly sown by the Spirit of God. Picture your mind filled with thoughts that are noble, pure, and uplifting—a space where love nourishes our garden, allowing truths to flourish. The battle for our minds is very real; many struggle daily, and some have lost their way because they didn’t know how to cultivate their thoughts and protect themselves from those destructive pests. But we can overcome this challenge by watering our minds with God’s Word. The Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4:8 , “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.” These are the seeds we are called to sow in the fertile soil of our souls. Let’s take a moment to examine our thoughts and identify any pests that may be trying to thrive and suffocate our fruit. Write down the thoughts that often come to mind. Now, hold them up to the light of Truth—God’s Word. Ask yourself: Do these thoughts reflect what is true in God? Are they praiseworthy? If they don’t meet these criteria, it’s time to remove them, just like we would with pests in our garden. We need to actively eliminate these harmful thoughts. If they are true, praiseworthy, and pure, then we can trust God in prayer, believing that He is working all things out for our good. When we compare our thoughts to God’s Word, as instructed in Philippians 4:8, we embrace a new way of thinking that leads to true joy and a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). It’s time to be diligent gardeners, cultivating only those thoughts that are meant to thrive, bless us, and draw us closer to our Creator. By doing this, our minds will transform into a sanctuary of divine beauty and peace.
- The Power of Prayer: Why Satan Fights to Keep You Silent
Prayer is one of the greatest gifts Christ has given us, yet it is also one of the greatest battlegrounds in the Christian life. Jesus didn’t just encourage His disciples to pray—He taught them how to pray (Luke 11:1-4). He showed us that prayer is direct communication with the Father, our lifeline to heaven, and our weapon against the enemy. But if prayer is so vital, why do we struggle with it so much? The answer is simple: Satan will do anything to keep you from praying. The Enemy’s Tactics: Why Satan Fears Your Prayers Satan knows that a praying Christian is a powerful Christian. He understands that when we pray, we call on the power of God, align our hearts with His will, and receive divine strength. That’s why he works tirelessly to keep us from praying. Here are some of his most common tactics: 1. Distraction – The moment you set your heart to pray, distractions flood in. Your phone pings, your to-do list grows, and suddenly, prayer feels like an afterthought. 2. Busyness – The enemy convinces us we are “too busy” to pray, when in reality, we are too busy not to pray. 3. Doubt and Discouragement – He whispers, “God isn’t listening. Your prayers don’t matter.” But this is a lie! (James 5:16). 4. Guilt and Condemnation – Satan reminds you of past failures, making you feel unworthy to approach God. But Jesus has made a way for us to come boldly before the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). 5. Spiritual Warfare – The enemy attacks our prayer life because he knows it strengthens us and weakens his grip. The Weapons Christ Has Given Us to Overcome Thankfully, Jesus has not left us defenseless. He has given us spiritual weapons to overcome the enemy’s schemes and remain steadfast in prayer: • The Word of God – Praying Scripture silences the lies of the enemy (Ephesians 6:17). • The Name of Jesus – Demons tremble at His name (Philippians 2:9-11). • The Blood of Jesus – It covers and protects us (Revelation 12:11). • The Holy Spirit – He helps us pray even when we don’t know what to say (Romans 8:26). • Perseverance – Jesus told us to “pray and not lose heart” (Luke 18:1). Will You Commit to Prayer? Friend, the enemy fights so hard against your prayer life because he knows its power. But you don’t have to let him win. Jesus has given you everything you need to stand firm and pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Let’s take a stand today! What are you believing God for? Leave your prayer request in the comments, and let’s stand together in faith. “ The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. ” – James 5:16
Tus oraciones no importan”. ¡Pero eso es una mentira! (Santiago 5:16). 4. ¿Te Comprometerás A Orar? – Santiago 5:16
- UNSHAKABLE LOVE: OVERCOMING TRIALS WITH GOD'S POWER
How many of us realize that life's challenges can shake us to our core, leaving us weary, uncertain, and searching for hope? In those darkest moments, doubt creeps in, questioning our strength, our purpose, and even God's presence. But Romans 8:31-39 declares an unshakable truth, when God is for us, nothing can come against us. No trial is too great, no fear too overwhelming, no force powerful enough to separate us from His unfailing love. This passage isn't just a comfort, it's a call to rise with courage, to walk in unwavering faith, and to embrace our identity as more than conquerors through Christ. Let this truth ignite your spirit and empower you to live boldly, knowing victory is already yours. The Power of God's Presence Romans 8:31 asks, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” This isn't just a question, it's a victorious declaration. The Almighty Creator is on our side! No enemy, no hardship, no spiritual battle can overpower His love and authority. His strength is our foundation, and His grace is our shield. Paul emphasizes in Romans 8:32 that if God gave us His own Son, He will surely provide everything we need. This truth silences doubt and fear. If He has already given us the greatest gift, won't He sustain us through life's challenges? Trust in His provision and live with unshakable confidence. No Force Can Separate Us Romans 8:35 asks, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” Paul lists trials, tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, and the sword. But these hardships have no power over God's love. External circumstances don't define us, His love does. Nothing we face can diminish His unwavering commitment to us. Romans 8:37 proclaims that we are more than conquerors through Christ. This means we don't just survive; we triumph! His love empowers us to rise above obstacles, to face fear with courage, and to transform struggles into testimonies of faith. Hardships don't break us, they provide the depth of His power in our lives, and who we really are in Him. Paul ends with an unshakable truth: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39). This is not wishful thinking; it's a victorious reality. No force in existence can severe our bond with Christ. Romans 8:31-39 is a powerful passage that reminds us of the limitless love, protection, and assurance we have in God. When we face trials, we can stand firm in the knowledge that God is for us, that He provides for us, and that nothing can separate us from His love. We are not merely surviving life's challenges; we are more than conquerors through Christ. Let this truth empower you today to walk in faith, knowing that no matter what comes your way, God's love remains steadfast and victorious. Take heart and be encouraged: You are loved, you are secure, and you are victorious in Christ!
