The Greater Glory After the Shaking
Life often brings seasons of shaking, times when everything we thought was stable begins to tremble. Relationships, careers, finances, and even our spiritual walk can go through storms. But in Haggai 2:6-9, God assures us that shaking is not meant to destroy us; it is meant to prepare us for greater glory. You may ask yourself: How is that possible? When God shakes things, He removes what is temporary and weak so that only what is eternal and strong stays. If you feel like your world has been shaken, take heart, God is making room for something greater!
1. The Shaking is Preparation for Glory
“I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations” (Haggai 2:6-7).
Just as God shook the nations in Haggai’s time, He allows shaking in our lives to reposition us for His purposes. Often, we hold onto things that limit us, comfort zones, old mindsets, and even relationships that prevent us from fully walking in God’s will. The shaking is a divine reset. Yes, read that again—a divine reset, breaking attachments to what cannot carry us into the greater glory He has prepared. Consider Joseph—betrayed, enslaved, and imprisoned. But after the shaking, Joseph was promoted to a position of power in Egypt. His latter days were far greater than his former ones!
2. The Glory of the Latter House in Our Lives
“The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former” (Haggai 2:9).
What does this mean for us? It means that no matter how glorious your past may have been, God has something even greater ahead. If you’ve experienced loss, disappointment, or brokenness, don’t dwell on what was, fix your eyes on what will be.
God never restores to the same level, He always increases. Job, after losing everything, received double what he had before. The disciples, after losing Jesus to the cross, experienced the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, an even greater manifestation of God’s presence than when Jesus walked beside them. Whatever you’ve lost, whatever has been shaken, believe that God is bringing you into a new season of greater glory.
3. The Lord is Our Source
“The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,” says the Lord of hosts" (Haggai 2:8).
Sometimes, we fear the shaking because we don’t know how we will recover. But God reminds us that He is the owner of all things. He controls every resource, every opportunity, and every breakthrough. When God says He will fill your life with greater glory, He has the means to do it! Your provision is not in the hands of an employer, a government agency, or an economy—it is in the hands of the Lord of hosts, the One who owns all the silver and the gold.
4. Peace After the Shaking
“And in this place I will give peace,” says the Lord of hosts" (Haggai 2:9).
True peace is not the absence of storms but the presence of God in the midst of them—Pastor Armando Olmedo. After the shaking comes peace, the kind that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
You may be in a storm right now, but peace is coming. God’s peace is not just external; it is an internal assurance that He is in control. The shaking will end, and when it does, you will stand in a place of greater glory with greater faith, greater testimony, and greater peace.
Stand in Expectation of Greater Glory!
The shaking is not your downfall, it is your divine setup! What may feel like loss is preparation for a greater breakthrough. The glory of your latter days will surpass your former days. God’s peace, provision, and power are already being released over your life!
Reflect & Declare:
🔹 What areas of your life have been shaken? Trust that God is clearing the way for something greater.
🔹 Where have you experienced loss? Declare with confidence: The latter glory will be greater than the former!
🔹 Are you worried about provision? Remember, the silver and gold belong to God—He is your ultimate source!
No matter what you have faced, greater glory is ahead! Hold fast to His promise, stand firm in faith, and step boldly into your new season of peace, power, and purpose. Your best days are not behind you—they are right in front of you!

Thank you Jesus.
