Through baptism, believers become part of the family of God and begin a new walk with Him. —Mark 16:16; Galatians 3:27–28 Holy Communion We consider Jesus Christ's command to his disciples in Matthew 26:26-28, as an expression of our intimate relationship and commitment to God. Dedication of Children The presentation of children to the Lord is a special occasion on which parents affirm their commitment to Christian standards of parenting: a lifelong commitment to guide and lead children toward a life dedicated to God. - Luke 2:21-22 Marriage Our church honors the sacrament of marriage as the sacred union between a man and a woman, blessed by God. According to what Jesus said we support and guide couples on their journey toward this lifelong covenant of love and fidelity. - Matthew 19:5 Speaking in Tongues According to Acts 2:2-4, speaking in tongues was the sign that the Holy Spirit had come upon the believers, fulfilling Jesus' promise in Acts 1:8-that we would receive power when the Holy Spirit came upon us. Ministering to the Sick We believe in anointing the sick to bring comfort, strength, and healing to those facing illness or suffering. We follow Christ's example by laying hands on the sick in faith, as well as freeing them from spiritual oppression in the liberating name of Jesus Christ. - James 5:14-15
